Mount Pleasant Mountain Bike and Run/Walk Challenge!

Although we will be unable to hold our traditional 5K/10M Challenge, we are pleased to announce that this season we will be hosting a series of virtual challenges.  Please see a breakdown of the challenges below!  The Challenge should be performed at Mount Pleasant on the predetermined 5.5-mile loop.   Sign up for one or, if you really want to push yourself, sign up for multiple Challenges!  Only a single one entry fee is applied for multiple registrations.  Multiple times may be entered for each Challenge.

In addition, we are pleased to announce that Loud Performance will join us Saturday, August 29th from 10 am to 4 pm!  They will be on-site for bike tunes ups, demos, and two clinics!  One clinic will be held at 1 pm and the other at 3 pm!  

 Challenge Session #1: Opens Saturday, August 29th and closed Monday, September 7th

Each Challenge will offer competitors 10 days to complete the course on their own time.  Times will input by each competitor on the honor system and multiple entries may be made for each Challenge!  Challenges will be all different and each will offer a different aspect of the mountain.  All Challenges will be mapped prior to the events on Strava.


  • Expert Men's: 3 Laps (King of the Mountain)

  • Expert Women's: 2 Laps (Queen of the Mountain)

  • Novice Men's: 1 Lap

  • Novice Women's: 1 Lap

  • Youth Boy's (12-18): 1 Lap

  • Youth Girl's (12-18): 1 Lap

  • Single Speed Men's: 3 Laps

  • Single Speed Women's: 2 Laps

  • Fat Bike Men's: 2 Laps

  • Fat Bike Women's: 1 Lap

  • Clydesdale Class (men over 200lbs): 1 Lap

  • Kids 4-11: Timed laps on Bobcat (Free and results to be posted by hand at the information kiosk)


  • Men's (all ages): 1 Lap

  • Women's (all ages): 1 Lap 



Each lap is approximately 5.5-miles long and several hundred feet of vertical change!  The loop is mapped on Strava as "Race Loop"  Check out the course here.   The course will be marked by Thursday, August 27th with blue arrows.   Please feel free to join us on Thursday the 27th at 6:30 for a course tour!


Each Challenge is $10 to enter and includes your trail fee for the event.    Each separate Challenge winner will be awarded 25% of the entry fees.  An additional 25% will be awarded via a random drawing to someone in each Challenge.  The remaining 50% of the Challenge fees will be used to raise funds to maintain the trail network! We hope to purchase backpack leaf blowers, tools, gravel, and signage so that we can continue to maintain the trail network through the fall.  


Challenge #2 will be Friday, September 4th to Sunday, September 13th, and Challenge #3: Friday, September 18th to Sunday, September 27th.  These Challenges will be open following the completion of Challenge #1!
