Mount Pleasant SnoBox Derby!

We are pleased to bring back the SnoBox Derby!   This year's event will be held on Sunday, March 15th. Registration opens at 10:00 am, inspections will begin at 11:00 pm, and racing will immediately follow the inspections at approximately 11:30 am!!  Below are the rules for the competition!

• 🏗️ Construction & Materials

  To keep the competition fair (and the hill safe), sleds must be built strictly using only these five structural materials:

  • Cardboard

  • Tape

  • Paint

  • Glue

  • String or Rope

  Decorations: Non-structural flair is highly encouraged! Feel free to use paint, Christmas lights, garland, or other festive additions.

  📏 Sled Specifications

  • Width: Maximum of 4 feet.

  • Length: No limit (but remember: the entire sled must cross the finish line to be eligible for prizes!).

  • Display: Please leave a flat, visible spot for a letter-sized number plate, which you will receive at registration.

  👥 Teams & Riders

  • Sled Capacity: Minimum of 2 people; maximum of 4 people.

  • Team Size: No limit on your total crew, but only those in the sled may ride.

  • Logistics: Teams are responsible for transporting their sled to the start and removing it from the course after the run.

  • Transport Help: You may use skis, snowboards, or carts to move your sled to the starting area, but these must be detached before launching.

  ⚠️ Safety & Logistics

  • Waivers: A signed waiver is mandatory for every rider.

  • Helmets: Highly recommended for all participants. If you don't have one, limited quantities are available at our Rental Shop.

  • Race Format: Final heat brackets will be determined on race day based on the total number of entries.
